On Wednesday, I told myself that I didn't know a lot about code and everything on the PICAXE software looked extremely complicated so I wanted to practice my coding skills and acquire new ones.

To achieve this: I had to find coding websites that are the correct difficulty and aren't too easy, challenge myself by going to higher levels of coding and compare what I was coding to PICAXE and to the codes that I will need to use.

I achieved my goals because I practiced different types of code on different websites and I learned many new things about coding and what to start certain codes off with.

What went well? I went above and beyond what the websites recommended by complicating the simple ones and going to the extreme codes.

What didn't go well? I couldn't find any websites or programs that could help me learn certain codes in PICAXE but I definitely got a much better understanding of coding and how to use certain codes.

On Monday, I said that I would find information on  PICAXE (The company that I am getting my microcontroller from along with the software that I will be using to program my microcontroller) and how to use it for my specific project. To achieve this I had to : 1. find all the specifications for my unique board. 2. Watch a tutorial on how to use PICAXE. 3. Actually try PICAXE out.
Now I'm guessing you're all wondering if I achieved my goal. And yes I did, I found out so much information on how to use PICAXE and I also found all of the lines of code that I need to know to program my microcontroller.

What went well? I found exactly what I need to do when I am actually programming my microcontroller and many extra features such as playing sounds and flashing lights.

What didn't go well? UGHHHHHHH! I completely underestimated how much code I would actually have to use and configure to get everything perfectly.

P.S The binary code in the title actually says something, can you figure it out?

My class is finally starting Genius Hour and I have also started on mine. On Wednesday, I created a list of what I need to do and what order I need to follow for the most efficient work. To achieve this, I needed to do some research to find what would be most effective, I needed to find what materials are used for what.

I achieved my goal because I did manage to create a list of the order I would need to put it together to get the best possible outcome. I also learned a lot about of the materials I am using.

What went well? I found out what would be the most effective way to begin, I also asked some of the students in my class (who were fortunately learning code) what software would be best to program my microcontroller.

What did not go well? I did not manage to get all of my materials because I haven't received them in the mail yet.

I am so excited to start this project, I really feel like i'm pushing myself to the limits and going out of my comfort zone
