Recently, my class has been reading a book called Touching Spirit Bear and in it, as you probably can tell, there is a spirit bear and that got our class talking about the spirit bear statues that are scattered across BC. I have seen quite a few spirit bear statues around and I love them, I have always seen cool pictures of nature on them, one of my favourite ones isn't even a bear, it is an eagle with a picture of the island beside it, it is in horseshoe bay and everytime I go there, I see it and just admire it because half of it is above water and the other half is under the sea with all kinds of animals, it is amazing. And that statue inspired me to create this design for my spirit bear. I have always been so in love with nature and ever since I was little, I've wanted to see the Aurora Borealis, i've seen so many pictures of the Aurora Borealis just lighting up an area in the middle of the night, there is just something so beautiful about it. The other half of it is a picture of Bowyer Island, it seems like in every blog, I manage to bring up Bowyer Island so you probably already know all a out Bowyer, but in case you don't, My friend Steven and his family have a cabin on Bowyer Island, an island in B.C Canada filled with lush green forests and beautiful beaches, and I get the opportunity to go there in the summertime and it is beautiful there. So I thought to put a picture of bowyer island on the second half of it. I am really proud of how it turned out and I would love to do it again (or to a real spirit bear statue)
